At Zobia Trust, we understand the transformative power of education and the unique challenges faced by physically disabled students. To ensure that these determined individuals can pursue their educational dreams, we launched a student sponsorship program in 2021. This initiative is specifically designed to support disabled students who, due to financial constraints and prejudice, are unable to continue their education.
Empowering Disabled Students
Hamza Arshed's Journey :
Hamza Arshed, our first sponsored student from Mirpur, completed his metric exams at Zobia School. With the launch of our intermediate classes in November 2024, Hamza was admitted to a private college. Zobia Trust covered all his college fees, uniforms, books, stationery, and other related costs. Additionally, we provided him with a wheelchair for classroom use and a specially designed motorcycle to facilitate his travel between home and college, as well as for personal use. Hamza’s story is a testament to the impact of our sponsorship program on enabling students to overcome barriers and achieve their educational goals.
Wasi Sabir's Aspirations:
Wasi Sabir from Kotli is another inspiring example. In November 2022, Wasi visited Zobia School seeking admission to our intermediate class. He shared his story, revealing that his father had passed away and that he came from a very poor family. Despite these hardships, Wasi had a strong desire to pursue higher education. After thoroughly investigating his circumstances, Zobia Trust offered him sponsorship for higher education. We covered his transport fare, university entry test fee, and supported his journey back to Kotli to participate in the entry test exams for Kotli University of AJK. Wasi successfully passed his test and has been studying under our sponsorship program since 2022. The charity pays all his university fees, private accommodation, living costs, pocket money, clothes, books, and stationery on a monthly basis. Wasi’s story highlights our commitment to nurturing talent and providing opportunities for deserving students.
